Classification The Spring Show for 2008 took place on the 7th June at Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre, Thornhaugh, Peterborough. The show opened at 9.00 a.m. and Judging started at 10.00 a.m. The morning started with a threat of heavy rain but by the start of judging it had settled down to light showers, frequent but not show stopping. Despite this the atmosphere, as always, was one of everybody just out to have a really good day. Weather improved into the afternoon with longer sunny spells and lighter rain, people were partaking of the venues' very nice home cooked food in the restaurant or visiting the Burger van at the ring side that was dispensing the most wonderful beef and stilton or lamb and mint burgers at very reasonable prices and jaw breaking dimensions. As the days showing drew to an end we were celebrating those who had had success in the ring and those who had been especially lucky on the Tombola stall were toasting the wins with one of the bottled prizes. Although it is an open air show with no wet weather accommodation, it would seem people who attend come to enjoy there day and do just that, exhibitors are welcome to bring their own Gazebos, room is available for them to be erected close to the rings. The site starts to resemble a village fete as the multi coloured canvas is erected along with sunshades or on this occasion brollies. If
you decide to join us next year this is a large venue and there will be
plenty of room for you to erect your gazebo and picnic too. It is unlikely
you will need the brollies as this is the first year we have had rain it
is far more likely you will need a sun shade, however as this year proved,
even with the showers it can't spoil the day.
