HOUND CLUB OF EAST ANGLIA SAT 13TH JUNE STANDARD LONG HAIRED DACHSHUNDS PUPPY (3/0) 1st Lawrence’s Peverleigh Rose of Polly. 6 mth Red bitch with sound front and rear construction who maintained a level top line on the move. I hope she tightens up as she matures as she should have a good future. 2nd Chapman’s Melminds My Mate Marley. 10mth Red dog who was a little upright in his front construction but drove out well behind. He needs to learn to go with his handler more.
JUNIOR (3/0) 1st Oxley’s Owlery Lewis. 15mth Red dog. Showed to perfection as I would expect from this kennel. Excellent front and rear construction which he used to good effect as he strode around the ring, maintaining a level top line. RBOB. 2nd Chapman’s Darsoms Ziana at Melminds. 11mth Red bitch who had it all in the right place. Was a little lose on the move but this will improve with age. BP and delighted to see her go RBPIS.
POST GRADUATE (5/0) 1st Negus’ Tarramist Adonis Dream. 2yr Black/tan dog. One from the top draw here who has a very sound front and rear construction which allowed him to drive well. 2nd Chapman’s Marshwick Moonlight Dram via Melminds.2 1/2yr Black/tan dog. Another well balanced example of the breed. Sound in the front and rear construction. Just a little to coarse in the head for my liking.
OPEN (7/0) 1st Negus’ Shardaroba Rigel by Tarramist. 6yr Red dog. This dog had it all for me. A perfect head on an elegant neck to well laid shoulders. The soundest of constructions coupled with ring presence. He strode round the ring showing balance and a spot on level top line. BOB. 2nd Mitchell’s Sonsrymes Di Hard. 3yr Red dog. A soundly constructed dog in this tough class. He used his rear drive well to push the winner close.
STANDARD SMOOTH HAIRED DACHSHUND SPECIAL YEARLNG (3/1) 1st Seago’s Roleta Prestige Lotus. 14mth Choc bitch. A super feminine head, well constructed front and rear construction. She moved with good drive around the ring. RBOB. 2nd Elis’ Tealby Another Rumour in Red. 9 1/2mth red dog. Soundly constructed at the front and rear but a touch long over the loin which mean he did not drive as well as I would like.
POST GRADUATE (1/0) 1st Elis’ Tealby Tittle Tattle. Litter sister to 2nd in the last class but she is a real stunner. She is so well balanced with a super feminine head, spot on front and rear construction, moving with drive. Had to award her BOB as well as BP. Pleased to see her go PG3.
OPEN (2/0) 1st Starkey’s Carpaccio Top of the Class at Hamoura. 2yr Black/tan dog. Lovely houndy head over a sound front construction but too long over the loin and square over the rear construction for my liking. Still moved out with purpose. 2nd Elis’ Jotoso Lulu Guiness of Tealby. 4 1/2yr Black/tan bitch. Mother of my two puppies but not back in top condition. Well constructed front and rear but not driving as well as I would want.
STANDARD WIRE HAIRED DACHSHUND OPEN (1/0) 1st Gibson’s Allfreys Grace Kelly. 20mth bitch. Gave her best puppy last time I judged her when she also went BPIS. She has matured to perfection. A pity she stood alone but it would have taken something special to beat her. I can find no fault with her. BOB
MINATURE LONG HAIRED DACHSHUND PUPPY (5/1) 1st Halsall’s Kiddles Painted Bronze. 11mth red bitch. Such a feminine bitch so balanced and constructed front and rear. She out moved everything in the class. BP 2nd Brooks’ Lyndarlea Muffin 7mth Black/tan bitch. Another soundly constructed bitch from this kennel. Moved well but still a touch high behind at present.
JUNIOR (4/2) 1st Brooks’ Lyndarlea Atlantica. 12mth Back/tan dog. Lovely houndy head over correct front and rear construction that allowed him to drive out well maintaining a level top line. 2nd Halsall’s Kiddles Medusa. 11mth Cream Brindle dog. As soundly constructed as his litter sister, moving with as much drive. His head was too course for me and this was the deciding factor.
POST GRADUATE (6/1) 1st Brooks Layways Piper for Lyndarlea. 2yr Cream dog. A very soundly constructed dog who really covered the ground, using his rear end well. His head was a little short for my liking. RBOB 2nd Green’s Eldmour Electra. 2yr red bitch. A lovely feminine head and well constructed front and rear. Just lacked the drive of the winner. Could cope with more substance.
OPEN (6/1) 1st Cawley & King’s Creekpit Black Opal at Summerview. 22mth Black/tan dog. Looked a picture. Super houndy head over correct front and rear construction. He drove out well showing pads. BOB 2nd Brooks’ Lyndarlea Fizical Atracts. 2 1/2yr Choc dog. As well constructed as the winner but just not driving out as well as the winner. I’m sure that they could change places on another day.
MINATURE SMOOTH HAIRED DACHSHUND PUPPY (6/3) 1st Watson’s Laraine Bootiful Lady. 10 1/2mth Silver Dapple bitch. A lovely feminine head on an elegant neck into well laid shoulders. Sound front and rear construction that allowed her to drive around the ring with a level top line. BP. 2nd Rouse’s Doujac Voulez Vous. 11 1/2mth Black/tan bitch. Super sound construction with good rear drive. Just preferred the head of the winner.
JUNIOR (3/2) 1st Watkinson’s Manakoora Pandus. 14mth Black/tan bitch. A super feminine bitch, well constructed front and rear. Balanced on the move, keeping that level top line. Did not do herself justice in the challenge which was a pity.
POST GRADUATE (5/2) 1st Yeoman’s Klynerbyner Ursula Ann. 2yr Red bitch. Such a soundly constructed dog who really drove out round the ring. Head could be better but could not be denied in the challenge. BOB 2nd Watkinson’s Manakoora Amakihi. 14mth Black/tan dog. Had a better head than the winner and was as soundly constructed but did not drive out as well as I would have liked so had to give way to the winner.
OPEN (6/2) 1st Watkinson’s Manakoora Hawaiian Oh-Oh. 2 1/2yr Black/tan bitch. Another excellent dog from this kennel. Very well constructed throughout. It was close in the challenge but the stronger rear drive of the Post Graduate dog just shaded it. RBOB. 2nd Rouse’s Dvordac Kiss the Future. 2 1/2yr red bitch. Another soundly constructed dog both front and rear. A touch chunkier than the winner and this was the difference.
MINATURE WIRE HAIRED DACHSHUND PUPPY (2/0) 1st Thompson’s Spengretta Mistress Ruby. 7mth bitch. A real minature but all in the right place. Her rear drive was the deciding factor. BP 2nd Moore’s Danvichar Euphrasia. 11mth dog. Good front construction but still a little long on the rear lower leg so looked a touch back end high on the move.
JUNIOR (1/0) 1st Hardy’s Kushkin Firefly. 15mth bitch. A sound front angulation but just a touch close behind today. Kept a level top line on the move. RBOB
POST GRADUATE (1/0) 1st Thompson’s Spengretta Lilly Lady. 2yr bitch. A lovely head and front construction. Just not as sound on the rear movement as I was looking for.
OPEN (2/0) 1st Hardy’s Kushkin Enigma. 2 1/2yr bitch. A very soundly constructed bitch who really drove out behind keeping a level top line at all times. BOB 2nd Moore’s Danvichar Digitalis. 2yr bitch. Soundly constructed but not driving round the ring as well as the winner.
