Deerhounds

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge this relaxed and friendly show. Both committee and exhibitors were very hospitable. There was much to admire with some hounds but I feel as breeders we must pay particular attention to fronts and feet.

 

Puppy

1/ Wilsons' Hamiltonhill Fred D Mercury
Well constructed 10 month dog scored in head, dark eye, small ears, decent shoulder, good rise over loin, good length from hip to hough. Free mover - Best Puppy.

2/ Cummings' Stainlonan Luther
11 month male small ears, deep chest, correct topline with good backend. should finish well.

3/Wilsons' Hamiltonhill One Vision

Junior

1/Steart & Holts' Regalflight Blizzard at Ollandsheart
16 month bitch good head, strong neck, correct topline, adequate hind quarters. Moved well.

2/ Johnstons' Stranwith Sforzando
A lot to like about this young male. Masculine lad with deep chest and very good hind quarters. Unfortunately was determined to play his handler up.

Graduate

1/Hawkins' Kwarricot Asclepius
Good outline on this 2 year male. dark eye, neat folded small ears, straight front, good hind angulation. Moved well.

2/Shannons' Erewhon Dambuster
20 month male. Good balance, good depth throughout, nice rise on topline which he kept on the move.

3/ Tresshs' Trentdale Glamis of Lyndorthwin.

Post Graduate

1/ Sammways' Giltan Peregrine Cum Cassacre
Close decision between 1 & 2. 4 1/2 year male, adequate shoulder, good sweep over loin, good bend of stifle.

2/ Bucks' Tomegem Dumbledore
2 1/2 year male. similar comments apply, masculine hound, good depth of chest. Preferred head of 1st.

Limit

1/ Jansons' Nixophel Crystal Amethyst JW ScCM
Lovely bitch, quality throughout. Straight front with good flat bone, well knuckled feet, good spring of rib, correct bend of stifle, shown in muscular condition. Immaculate presentation RBIB

2/ Hawkins' Kwarricot Archimago JW
Good sized 2 year old male. Maturing nicely. Dark eye, small ear, good ribbing, strong in loin, decent hind  quarters. Preferred front movement of first.

3/ Buckley' Packway Smart Money.

1/Bonds' Regalflight Moth
Such a lot to like about this 3 1/2 year bitch. Heart melting expression, strong in neck with good front angulation, terrific depth of chest, good tuck up, correct topline, broad strong hind quarters, low set houghs - what a picture. BOB

2/ Trotman & Dockrees' Regalflight Princequillo or Penherald
Substantial male, good width in front, strong in shoulder, good spring of rib, broad back end.

3/ Girlings' Pyefleet Rollo.
